SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) status of mice is required from the majority of Animal Facilities. When mice in your colony have been infected, or you just want to introduce infected animals to your Facility the most effective method to remove pathogens is Embryo Rederivation. During Embryo Rederivation donor preimplantation embryos (obtained by IVF or by mating males and females) are transferred into the oviduct of SPF pseudopregnant recipient females. As result pups without pathogens are born, and after their weaning, we send mice to you.

We offer 2 types of Embryo Rederivation:

Standard Embryo Rederivation – donor embryos are obtained from hormonally stimulated females (C57BL/6; B6CBAF1 or females provided by you) which have been mated with males. After embryo transfer to recipient females, we obtain from a few to a dozen (depending on the fertility of the strain) newborn mice with SPF status.

IVF Embryo Rederivation –  donor embryos are obtained by in vitro fertilization of oocytes (isolated from C57BL/6; B6CBAF1 or females provided by you) by sperm of donor males (provided by you). Next 2-cell embryos are transferred to recipient females. In this case, we can produce a large number of SPF offspring (up to 100 mice).
